Turkey (TUR) will take on Bulgaria (BUL) in the eliminator match of Group 1 of the European Cricket Championship Challenger 2024 on Thursday, September 26, at the Cartama Oval in Cartama. Turkey finished in third place with three wins to their name in five games. Bulgaria won one out of five games and were in fourth position at the end of the group stage.
Turkey and Bulgaria faced each other in their last outing as well. Turkey elected to bat in that game after winning the toss. Abdullah Lodhi made 52 runs off 27 deliveries for Turkey and was the highest scorer for the team. His innings helped the team post a total of 107 runs for the loss of five wickets. Oscar Duff, Prakash Mishra, and Delrick Vinu took one wicket each.
Mohammad Sufyan scored 43 runs off 32 deliveries and retired hurt in the eighth over. Bulgaria finished with 97 runs for the loss of seven wickets on the board and lost the match by 10 runs. Serdar Emir and Gokhan Alta took two wickets each for Turkey. Lodhi won the Player of the Match award for his batting performance.
