Turkey will take on Estonia in the first match of the European Cricket Championship 2024 on Monday, September 23, at the Cartama Oval in Cartama. It will be the second appearance for both teams in the European Cricket Championship. Turkey lost all their four matches last season and finished in fifth place in Group D. Estonia won one out of four games and finished in fourth position in Group C. They lost the eliminator game against Sweden.
The format of the European Cricket Championship has changed this year. Till last year, teams were divided into different groups and the winners qualified for the Championship Week. The tournament will be played in two phases this year. These two phases are Premier Division and Challenger Division. A total of 11 teams will participate in the Challenger Division. Both Turkey and Estonia are in Group A in the Challenger Division. The four teams will qualify for the playoffs in the challenger division.
