Arsenal aren’t going to sell Jorginho to Turkey in the coming days, for similar reasons to why they didn’t consider Leandro Trossard’s exit.

Charles Watts reports in his Daily Briefing that despite recent links with a possible move to Turkey for Arsenal midfielder Jorginho, that’s not going to happen.

Even if the interest is genuine, Watts suggests Arsenal wouldn’t be in a position to let Jorginho go, with no ability to secure a replacement. Turkey’s transfer deadline is this week, but the Premier League deadline has long passed.

The journalist adds that it’s a very similar situation to the Leandro Trossard bid from Saudi Arabia. Arsenal refused to negotiate, so it didn’t happen.

Perhaps it was inevitable that we’d see transfer links for both players after they were both left out of their national teams for the September break.

There will be a sense from outside Arsenal that the duo might be unsettled and looking for a team that can offer them consistent minutes. But the reality is that Arsenal aren’t looking to sell either of them.

Watts points out that Jorginho is well regarded at Arsenal, by staff and by his teammates, and that was well evidenced in a recent interview of a few Gunners on YouTube.

Speaking to YouTube channel Desimpedidos, Gabriel Magalhaes and Gabriel Jesus sang Jorginho’s praises.

“I don’t know what will be of me when Jorginho goes, he is like a father to me,” Gabriel said (via Renato).

“Jorgi is that annoying [but] needed guy, he always stand up for what is right at the club and isn’t afraid of speaking up,” Jesus added.
