Turkish national team head coach Vincenzo Montella has provided a brief insight into the wellbeing of Real Madrid star Arda Güler.
This comes, for those who may have missed it, after Güler set pulses racing across his club’s fanbase on Friday.
The 19-year-old was last night afforded a starting berth on the international front, in Turkey’s Nations League meeting with Wales.
And Güler went on to prove himself his country’s star performer, en route to an eventual goalless stalemate in Cardiff.
With mere minutes remaining in proceedings, however, the midfield starlet was forced to limp off, with what appeared to be a calf issue.
Speaking to the media on the back of the full-time whistle, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of Güler’s wellbeing was put to Vincenzo Montella.
And, in his response, Turkey’s headmaster went on to confirm that the Real Madrid man has picked up an unspecified ‘knock’:
“Arda Güler was substituted off due to a knock.”
