Turkish national team head coach Vincenzo Montella has on Sunday provided a fresh insight into the wellbeing of Real Madrid sensation Arda Güler.
The name of youngster Güler of course took its place front and centre in the headlines in Spain’s capital this past Friday night.
This came after the 19-year-old was forced into a premature departure from Turkey’s Nations League meeting with Wales.
En route to a goalless stalemate in Cardiff, minutes from time, Güler went to ground in evident pain, clutching his calf.
The midfielder was subsequently hauled off, setting alarm bells ringing at a Real Madrid outfit which has been ravaged by injuries over recent weeks.
Ensuing reports have since quelled concerns when it comes to any kind of long-term absence for Güler, with the aforementioned Vincenzo Montella, as alluded to above, having on Sunday provided a further insight into the situation:
“Arda Güler got a knock at the end of the match,” the tactician began. “He could not walk comfortably yesterday. Even if he does not train with the team today, we will evaluate if he can start or come in as a substitute.”
